Solar Roof With Style

Quad+ is a solar roof — not solar panels bolted on. Cascading dark slate tiles with nothing layered on top, and a double layer of protection: the sealed surface above, a full waterproofing layer beneath. It's a roof that can pay for itself: ideal for new home construction, or a shingle upgrade.

The roof

Slate cascade tiles are the roof.

Patented aluminum framing locks the tiles together watertight. The solar modules cascade down the surface, with no rails bolted on top. Fully active solar tiles with a glass surface produce the energy; connecting surfaces and shaded areas use matte black aesthetic tiles, nearly indistinguishable from the ground. Full surface coverage means maximum power production vs. the bolt-on alternatives.

Installation

One crew, one cycle.

Your own roofing contractor installs it, in the same window as a re-roof. There is no specialized solar crew, and no second project to coordinate.

The hidden cost of bolt-on panels

Panels outlast the roof under them.

Solar panels are built to run for 25 years or more. An existing shingle roof often has only 10 to 15 years left. When that roof wears out, panels bolted onto it have to come off so it can be replaced. Then they have to go back on. With Quad+, the solar is the roof, so there is nothing to take off.

Bolt-on panels on a shingle roof

  • The roof wears out years before the panels do.
  • At re-roof, you pay a crew to take the panels down, then pay again to put them back and restart them.
  • No solar power while the system is down.

Quad+

  • The solar is the roof: one system, with one life.
  • Nothing to take down and put back.
  • One crew and one warranty, instead of a roofer and a solar company.

Cost over time

The three roof options

Turn your roof into an investment, instead of an expense. Traditional roofs lose value. Bolt-on panels are a high-cost afterthought. Quad+ is the one that can earn its way back, and with style. Financed through our installation partner, it can also cost less each month than a traditional roof plus the electric bill it leaves you paying.

Net cost over time

Net cost of three roofing choices over fifteen years Three lines. A traditional roof is flat: it costs what it costs and recovers nothing. A traditional roof with bolt-on panels starts highest and falls as energy savings accumulate. Quad+ starts between the two and falls at the same rate, crossing below the traditional roof around the middle of the period — the point marked breakeven — and finishing lowest of the three. The chart shows the shape of the three curves; it carries no figures. Year 0 Year 15 Net cost, after energy savings Traditional roof Roof + bolt-on panels Quad+ breakeven
Illustrative: savings are driven by 1) home consumption needs, 2) roof position and shape, and 3) local and national incentives. A free custom Quad+ home assessment breaks all of these down.

What you pay each month, with financing

Monthly cost of three roofing choices over fifteen years, financed Three lines. The traditional roof's payment is the low flat line; with the full electric bill on top of it, shaded, which rises every year, so it starts highest and climbs. A roof with bolt-on panels is a larger fixed loan payment plus a small remaining bill, nearly flat. Quad+ is the lowest of the three from the first payment and stays nearly flat. The chart shows the shape of the three curves; it carries no figures. Year 0 Year 15 Monthly cost, payment + electric bill electric bill Roof + electric bill Traditional roof Roof + bolt-on panels Quad+
Illustrative: each option financed on the same fixed-rate terms, with no payments for the first six months; the electric bill rises with utility rates. Your payment depends on credit approval, the system and your home's energy use. A free custom Quad+ home assessment breaks all of these down.
